Scandinavian Airlines won three awards last night at the annual Grand Travel Awards in Stockholm. Voted by the readers of Travel News, Sweden’s most prominent travel trade publication, SAS was named winner in three categories: Best European airline, Best Intercontinental airline and Best domestic transportation.“We are extremely proud that it is those within the travel industry that has voted for us and given us their support with these awards. We are constantly doing our best to take care of our customers, and these awards recognize the hard work our staff does on a daily basis to provide the best possible service. Last year we became Europe’s most punctual airline, and also managed to take good care of the tens of thousands of customers that got stranded during the ash cloud crisis. That shows the quality and reliability of our hard work that we believe our customers, sales representatives and partners appreciates and values, says Lars-Ove Filipson, Vice President, Corporate Sales, Scandinavian Airlines.

In the past few weeks, SAS has scored a number of awards. Today, Flightstats CEO Jeff Kennedy is at Stockholm-Arlanda airport to personally hand over the award for Europe’s most punctual airline 2010 to SAS. Last month, SAS won five awards at the Norwegian travel trade awards HSMAI for marketing and social media, and earlier this month SAS’ social media campaign Love is in the air was name Online Campaign of the Year by Flightglobal and awarded with a Webbie.
