SAS Scandinavian Airlines Danmark A/S and partners to be the preferred airline of the Danish state and local governments

National Procurement Ltd. – Denmark (SKI) today selected SAS Scandinavian Airlines Danmark A/S and our partners, Deutsche Lufthansa AG, Austrian Airlines and Swiss International Air Lines Ltd., as the preferred supplier of air travel for the Danish state and local governments for the next two years.

The agreement has an annual value for SAS and partners in the region of DKK 190 million (€ 25 million), corresponding to 65% of the estimated travel activity of state and local governments over the next two years.

SAS Scandinavian Airlines Danmark A/S and partners were chosen following an open tender procedure in which many airlines participated. The procedure involved separate invitations to tender for each of the 137 routes that the state and local governments use.

“SAS and partners won a major part of the routes, and for 85 of the services we were selected as the sole supplier. This means that we are the largest and preferred supplier for the state and local governments over the next two years,” says Niels Henrik Hansen, Director Corporate Sales, SAS Scandinavian Airlines Danmark A/S. He stresses that even though SAS and partners put in their bids for the majority of the offered services, the goal was not to win them all at any price.

“Healthy business acumen and competitiveness were central to our bids. The airlines submitted their bids on commercial terms, and it would not have been profitable to further adapt our price on the services for which we were deselected,” Niels Henrik Hansen added.
