March 3, 2008 14:36

In the autumn, SAS will expand its intercontinental route network, which will also include India. Effective October 27, SAS will fly to Delhi three times a week. In conjunction with the launch of the Delhi route, SAS is offering an introductory fare of SEK 5,650, including taxes and fees.“India is currently one of the world’s most exciting destinations, for business and leisure travelers,” says Lars Sandahl Sørensen, President, SAS International. “Our new destination meets the strong demand among Scandinavian customers, particularly since Swedish and Scandinavian companies have been highly active in becoming established in India, primarily in the Delhi area. This new route is a direct response to satisfy their demands.”

The introductory fare of SEK 5,650 kronor applies for travel between October 27 and December 10, 2008, and includes all taxes and fees. The fare is bookable effective today and through April 13.

The new service will depart from Copenhagen on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, with return flights from Delhi on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays. The flight time is only seven and a half hours. Departure and landing times in Copenhagen are specially scheduled to enable rapid and smooth connections to and from Sweden.

From Delhi, there are good connections to Mumbai and Delhi is also a gateway to several of India’s most popular tourist destinations, including Agra, Agora, Goa, Jaipur and Kerala.

SAS International will operate the route using an A340-300, which offers three service classes: Business, Economy Extra and Economy. All passengers have a personal screen with a wide range of movies, music channels and games. Audio/video-on-demand is available in Business and Economy Extra, making it possible to start, pause and stop the entertainment whenever you want.

SAS intercontinental flights offer one of the airline industry’s most comfortable seats in Economy, while in Economy Extra, passengers have larger and broader seats. In Business, there is the SAS Business Sleeper, which becomes a bed at the push of a button.
