May 1, 2019 12:00

Additional traffic disruptions due to pilot strike

We deeply regret that our customers are being affected by the ongoing pilot strike that has led to delays and cancellations. As a result of the conflict, SAS will cancel additional departures on Thursday.

In total 20, 000 passengers are expected to be affected when 280 flights are canceled throughout Scandinavia on Thursday 2 May until 2 pm. We are doing everything in our power to limit the number of canceled flights and information about the current traffic situation caused by the pilot strike is updated continuously.

“It is positive that the parties now return to the negotiating table, it is the only way the conflict can be solved. As the parties now meet, we have the aspiration that it will lead to a constructive dialogue. We follow the development closely and make decisions continuously accordingly. Every canceled flight is a failure, therefore we work hard to limit the number of canceled flights”, says Karin Nyman, VP Communications at SAS.

Flights operated by SAS’ partners will not be affected by the strike.

Travelers concerned that the strike could impact their travel plans may rebook or cancel their tickets free of charge until 5 May.

More detailed information about rebooking and cancellation rules can be found on SAS’ website at https://www.flysas.com/en/traffic-information/disruptions/
