Some signs of reduced capacity in the marketplace have emerged, but overall and due to the situation with continued overcapacity, high jet fuel prices and the competitive situation with many price initiatives in many markets the outlook remains cautious.

Intercontinental traffic was marginally down in December, but load factor improved. SAS Group European traffic increased by 33,5% and passenger load factor increased by 11,6 p.u. primarily due to the introduction of new business models and weak comparative figures for Spanair. Blue1 in Finland continued to grow and traffic increased by 17,0%. airBaltic continued to grow and traffic was up 77,7% driven by strong growth both from Riga and Vilnius.
