June 5, 2012 16:40

Scandinavian Airlines was the world’s most punctual major airline for a second month in a row, as its punctuality improved to 92.38% for the month of May. In April, SAS had the world’s highest punctuality of all major airlines with 90.78%, being the only major airline worldwide to achieve a punctuality higher than 90%. For the past three years, SAS has also been named Europe’s most punctual airline.“This is the first time we have been the world’s most punctual airline two months in a row, which we are extremely proud of. We believe we more focused on offering a wider range of time-saving travel solutions than any other airline, as we know this is highly valued by the millions of customers travelling with us every month,” says Rickard Gustafson, CEO, Scandinavian Airlines.

In April, 20,559 flights out of 22,404 arrived on time. SAS Group subsidiaries Blue1 and Widerøe were also amongst the world’s best performers with 93.69% and 93.62%, respectively. Blue1 and Widerøe are featured in the Regional airlines category, whilst SAS is in the Major airlines category.
