Airport Operations
It is hard to imagine a workplace more constantly active than an airport. Open around the clock, it is filled with passengers traveling to all corners of the world. Our airport colleagues are there to help our travelers on their journey.
Landside operations are the parts of the airport that passengers can access without passing security. This includes areas such as check-in, bag drop, customer service, and arrival services.
Airside operations take place beyond security and around the aircraft itself. These include gate operations, aircraft turnaround, baggage loading and unloading, and coordinating the safe departure and arrival of flights.
What does execution look like on the ground?
In ground handling, execution is about turning plans into action. It means knowing your role, taking responsibility, and stepping in when it matters.
Meet one of our ramp agents as he shares how initiative, communication, and teamwork keep operations running smoothly, even when plans change.
Landside Operations
Every day, hundreds of our colleagues work behind the scenes to make travel possible. Together, these teams ensure that passengers, baggage, and aircraft are handled safely, efficiently, and with great care.
Airside operations: Sorting
Before your bag is loaded on board an aircraft it goes through sorting, which ensures that every bag follows you to your destination. Our team at Oslo Airport shows you what happens behind the scenes, from when you deliver your bag until it is loaded onto the aircraft.
Airside operations: Loading
Every year, our dedicated baggage team handles hundreds of thousands pieces of baggage. Get a glimpse into their work and your bag's trip from the check-in counter to the cargo hold onboard.
Airside operations: Push Back
One of the final steps before take-off is called Push Back. Why, you may ask? Because the aircraft is literally pushed back from the gate, by our teams in the Push Back trucks. Watch the video to get a glimpse into their everyday work.
