June 10, 2008 14:53

SAS is launching two attractive direct routes for ski enthusiasts. Next winter, it will be possible to fly direct from Oslo to Innsbruck and Salzburg. The direct route to Salzburg will depart every Wednesday and Saturday from December 3 through March 28. The route to Innsbruck will depart on Tuesdays and Fridays during the period December 26 through March 27.

Fast route to the Alps
“In the winter, it will be easier for keen Norwegian skiers to get to the best slopes in the Alps. Fares will start from NOK 940 one-way, and obviously this includes baggage check-in and choice of seat,” says Thomas Midteide, VP Communications and Public Affairs at SAS Norge.

Innsbruck is the largest city in the province of Tirol and is the hub for traffic to the Alps. The central Alps start south of the city, with peaks that are more than 3,500 meters above sea level. In addition to fantastic skiing opportunities, Innsbruck also has a world championship ski jump and many sights and museums.

Salzburg is the birthplace of Mozart, but is better known as an Eldorado for alpine experiences. Some of the best slopes in the world are located around the city and the Snow Shuttle goes to these slopes every day.

Choose between two classes
“On both routes, you can choose between Economy class and Economy Extra in the cabin,” says Midteide.

Economy class is ideal for those who want to fly as inexpensively as possible, but with such SAS service as good leg room, free choice of favorite seat, free baggage check-in and EuroBonus points.

In addition to extra leg room, Economy Extra offers greater flexibility and free food on board. Passengers in Economy Extra can also use SAS Fast Track at Gardermoen for quicker passage through security control and they can check in additional baggage.
