Following Scandinavian Airlines CEO Rickard Gustafson presenting the company’s new strategic direction earlier this month, which included its current Commercial department being split into two departments – Commercial and Marketing & Sales – the new head of Commercial has now been appointed. Joakim Landholm will take on the responsibility as Head of Commercial, and he will also be a member of SAS’ group management team.Joakim Landholm is currently the Chief Operating Officer at RSA Scandinavia. He also has a broad leadership background from both strategic and analytical functions at GE Money Bank, Accenture and Swedbank. “I’m pleased that we have concluded the recruitment of one of the two vacancies in the new management team. Joakim is an experienced leader with a sharp intellect, who has throughout his career in various companies and industries repeatedly proven that he can define a plan and deliver accordingly. I’m therefore confident that Joakim will deliver ‘Commercial Excellence’, one of SAS’ new four pillars, with the experienced team in the Commercial department,” says Rickard Gustafson, CEO, SAS.

“I am very excited about joining SAS. The company has taken a large step forward in the last years and I am very much looking forward to be part of the next steps and the realization of the 4Excellence strategy, which will continue SAS’ journey towards profitable growth,” says Joakim Landholm.

The position of Head of Sales & Marketing is still vacant.

“I have previously said I would like a Norwegian in my management team, and we are therefore concentrating our recruitment of a new Head of Sales & Marketing to Norway,” says Rickard Gustafson.
