SAS and Volvo are two Scandinavian companies with a great deal in common, such as safety, quality and innovation. Volvo Ocean Race stands for innovation and advanced engineering. SAS use of leading edge technology spans more than half a century, from pioneering Polar navigation in the 1950s to the recent introduction of the wireless high-speed Internet service onboard, known as SAS Net Access.

In conjunction with Volvo Ocean Race SAS will promote the new lie-flat Business Class seat that will be installed during 2006 on all SAS intercontinental aircraft. SAS Inflight Entertainment Systems will also give the passengers the possibility to follow the race, on the 10,4 inch individual screens. As a visual sign of the marketing partnership SAS Airbus A330/A340 will appear with the Volvo Ocean Race logotype.
