· SAS Group traffic increased by 6,6% vs 2005.

Group market trends and yield development
SAS Group traffic increased by 6,6% in July and capacity was up 2,8%. Cabin factor increased by 2,9 p.u. to a record 80,5%. Number of passengers increased by 6,9%.

The trend with improved passenger load factor continues, but at a lower pace. Yield for Scandinavian Airlines in June was up 4%, positively affected by the development on intercontinental routes and active yield management to offset record jet fuel prices. In July yield is expected to be positive vs last year and the increase vs last year to be somewhat stronger than for June.

The market growth is still strong and yield environment relatively stable, but there are still uncertainties due to the competitive situation and continued record high jet fuel prices. The strategy is to offset the increase through hedging, yield management and cost reductions.

Intercontinental traffic was down in July by 5,9% due to decreased capacity. SAS Group European traffic increased by 15,5% and passenger load factor by 3,9 p.u. primarily due to new business models and strong market growth. Blue1 has introduced new destinations and traffic increased by 67,7% with retained load factor. Spanair continued to grow and traffic increased by 19,1%. SAS Braathens also had strong growth and traffic was up 15,1% due to new routes and positive development on Norwegian domestic.
