SAS Group traffic figures April 2007

May 8, 2007 11:06

• SAS Group carried 3,4 million passengers in April, up 6,8% vs 2006.
• Total load factor decreased 2,3 p.u. to 71,0% in April.
• SAS Group capacity increased by 5,1% in April and traffic increased 1,7% vs 2006.

Group market trends and yield development
SAS Group traffic increased 1,7% during April and the number of passengers was up 6,8%. Capacity was up 5,1%, mainly due to capacity increases in Spanair and airBaltic. The passenger load factor declined by 2,3 p.u. to 71%, negatively affected by the strike in Copenhagen in April.
Yield for Scandinavian Airlines in March was up 13,6% as indicated. The yield is positively affected by good capacity control, easier comparable figures and active yield management. In April 2007 yield is expected to be broadly in line with March.
There are currently no indications of a slowdown of the business cycle or the air travel market. The total market growth is good and yield environment favourable due to good demand. There are still uncertainties regarding the strength of future growth as well as the competitive situation and development of jet fuel prices.
